Dean was born in 1964 in the San Fernando Valley and has been living in the Thousand Oaks area for the last five years. “God may vacation elsewhere, but he lives right here in the Conejo Valley! I am thankful everyday that He has allowed my family to live here!”
Dean’s ministry career began in 1994 as a volunteer small group leader at the Church at Rocky Peak in Chatsworth, CA. It was during that time that he experienced the powerful impact that occurred when a group of people committed themselves to applying God’s Word and praying and caring for one another. After two years, he was asked to come aboard as a staff member at Rocky Peak and lead the small group ministries. “Small groups are the place where your name and need become known and it takes your church experience and life as a Christian to a whole new level.”
After two years, Dean was named Executive Pastor where he continued his role as Pastor of Small Groups. In addition, Dean was named the church’s preaching assistant and Pastor of Singles Ministry (among other things!).
In 2000, Dean went to Phoenix, AZ and answered the call to become a Senior Pastor. Two years later, the Lord called him back to Southern California. He worked in the secular world in sales until June of 2007 when God made it clear it was time to return to ministry. “The five years that I was out of ministry were the most painful years of my life, but it has given me a heart for families who are hurting. Beneath the surface of many happy-looking households are lives that are crumbling under the pressure of life. My ministry here will make sure those families get connected and encouraged. “Every family needs a family!”
